- The Socialist Party believes that a border poll in the current context would be little more than a sectarian headcount and, whatever the outcome, would not lead to a resolution of the national conflict and sectarian division, but would tend to deepen division and point towards a renewal of conflict. Only a united movement of the working class for socialist change can overcome sectarian division and lay the basis for a genuine resolution to the conflict without coercion of any kind and with the rights of all communities guaranteed. The Socialist Party calls for the end of all foreign aid to the Israeli military and occupation and calls for the trade union movement to organise workers in companies currently profiting from the occupation to force disengagement. As part of International Socialist Alternative, we stand in solidarity with working-class people around the world who are facing oppression or fighting for democratic rights
