- On question: Mandatory First Aid and Medical & Digital Literacy Training should be provided in education - Teachers and teaching unions have been clear in their opposition to increased mandatory provision being added to the curriculum. We would support students in schools being given the opportunity to learn about first-aid. We support medical literacy integrated into teaching and learning with appropriate support and resources for schools to deliver it. On question: A Misinformation Action Plan should be developed to address the disturbing rise of misinformation within society & the negative influence it has on public life - We would support a stand-alone programme of critical thinking skills and information literacy to complement and strengthen the ‘Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities Framework’ currently in place across all areas of the Northern Ireland curriculum in order to explicitly address new and emergent issues of disinformation.
