Bangor West - Internationalism

As a society we should oppose unnecessary military involvement in local or foreign conflicts
There should be no hard border in Ireland
Government, at all levels, should support the BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) movement
As a society we should show solidarity with culturally distinct regions to have the democratic right to self-determination, for e.g. Catalonia, Palestine, Hong Kong, etc.

  • The people of Northern Ireland deserve progressive reforms. It is embarrassing to see how far behind we are on many issues, especially LGBTQIA+ rights.
  • On question: There should be an Irish border poll - We support the Good Friday Agreement and the provisions for a border poll as laid out there. We would hope that if or when those provisions are met the Secretary of State acts as quickly as possible in the spirit of the agreement.
