The 'Rough Sex' defence should be abolished and threats to publish 'Revenge Porn' should be criminalised, Justice (Sexual Offences & Human Trafficking) Bill, Protection from Stalking Bill, Non-Fatal Strangulation legislation - these have passed, with the support of Green MLAs
- There should be a much better representation of women in politics, but quotas are not sufficient in achieving this. The poor representation of women, as well as trans and non-binary people in politics here, is a result of a system historically upheld by parties that have for decades either sidelined or downright oppressed women and LGBTQ+ people. We should focus more to support, empower and embolden women and our society as a whole, to be liberated from misogyny and hatred, rather than hoping this much needed liberation would be simply be achieved through a quota.
